The Children's Museum of Manhattan (CMOM), announced today that it will host its 9th annual Pride Night on Monday, June 23rd from 4:30 - 7:00 pm. In partnership with Center Families, a family program of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Community Center, the Family Equality Council, and Goldman Sachs & Co. Community TeamWorks volunteer program, the evening will serve as a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender parents as well as extended family and friends.

Admission to the event is FREE, but RSVP is required.

The special after-hours event includes healthy snacks, volunteer and educator facilitated art activities, as well as exclusive access to CMOM's five floors of hands-on, interactive exhibits, including such favorites as Adventures with Dora and Diego, EatSleepPlay: Building Health Every Day and CMOM's latest addition, Jazzed! The Changing Beat of 125th Street. Goldman Sachs Community TeamWorks (CTW) volunteers will be on hand to assist visitors throughout the night with activities including finger painting on the ever popular PlayWorksTM mural wall.

"The importance of family in a young child's life cannot be overstated. CMOM thrives today because of families - families as diverse at New York itself. We are so happy to be able to provide a place that is safe, fun and nurturing. We hope CMOM's LGBT community looks forward to this event as much as we do," said Andrew Ackerman, Executive Director of CMOM.

Hosting Pride Night serves as yet another opportunity for CMOM to continue its celebration of family, diversity while encouraging dialogue in an environment that fosters social networking for parents and their children.
