Leo Lionni's Frederick, Chicago Children's Theatre's current hit family musical, has been extended an additional week with 11 more performances added to the schedule to meet audience demand.

Originally slated to close November 16, Frederick will now run through November 23 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St., Chicago.

Tickets are $10-$38, including a new offer of 20 balcony seats each on sale for only $10 to all remaining public performances: Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9 at 11 a.m.; then Saturday and Sunday, November 15, 16, 22 and 23 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

For tickets and information, visit chicagochildrenstheatre.org or call (872) 222-9555. School groups interested in booking into newly added weekday matinees should call CCT's group sales office, (773) 227-0180 ext. 13. Run time is 65 minutes.

Frederick is based on Leo Lionni's Caldecott Award-winning book about a mouse that daydreams the day away while the other mice are gathering food for the winter. But when frigid weather arrives, surprise! It was Frederick who stored up something special to help everyone through the darkest, coldest night.

Reminder: On Saturday, November 8 at 6 p.m., all 235 seats at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts are being offered exclusively to families with children on the autism spectrum. The performance will be modulated down a bit, additional staff will help create a safe, welcoming space for every child, and all families can enjoy the show without worrying if a child gets loud or active. Tickets are $15 with promo code IMAGINATION. Interested parents are encouraged to visit chicagochildrenstheatre.org for further information or call (872) 222-9555 to reserve.
