Chance Theater is accepting proposals from artists and community members interested in performing in support of Chance's artistic and educational programs at the 24hr Chance-a-thon, which will take place from 10am-10pm on Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23.

Just like the last two years, the Chance is searching for professional artists who have a 30-45 minute act they would like to perform to support the Chance's artistic and educational programs. Since 2012, the Chance has had a wide variety of live performances, from cabarets to new play readings, and magicians to musicians. The Chance-a-thon thrives on a diversity of talents, so people shouldn't feel like they need to confine themselves to the world of theater.

Thanks to a grant from the Orange County Community Foundation, this year the Chance is also looking for would-be performers who are interested in working with Chance artists to perform as part of the Chance-a-thon. Multiple participants may be teamed together to create complete acts. Chance artists will serve as coaches, directors, choreographers, and -- possibly in a couple instances -- co-stars.

"If you're a fan of the Chance, then here's your opportunity to get a closer look at the creative process," says Managing Director Casey Long. "Whether you've been onstage or not, this is the perfect chance to work with our artists and create something entertaining, expressive and have a good time. It should make for a very thrilling 24 hours."

Seasoned and would-be performers who want to participate in the 24hr Chance-a-thon should go to www.ChanceTheater.com/24hr to submit a proposal, or apply to be a participant.

This is the third year the Chance has presented its 24hr Chance-a-thon, a unique fundraiser that harnesses the talents and support from the local community. This special event has been a great way for the Chance to bond with its patrons and artists while they all work together to raise money for the Chance's education outreach programs and regular season. Last year, through 633 audience members, 221 donors, 50 fundraisers and over 100 artists, the event raised $31,116.

Chance Theater's new home is located at what will soon be named Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center, 5522 E. La Palma Ave, Anaheim, CA 92807.
