The Kimmel Center announces four new shows added to the stellar line-up of pop and jazz performances, as part of the 2015-16 season. Tickets are now available for performances ranging from rising star jazz chanteuse Cécile McLorin Salvant performing an intimate solo jazz recital (Oct. 17), 10 time Grammy Award-winning Latin jazz duo Arturo Sandoval & Poncho Sanchez making their debut (Nov. 8), the return of international touring sensation Canadian Brass with Jeffrey Brillhart (Oct. 17), and the Philadelphia premiere of Potted Potter -- the Unauthorized Harry Experience (Oct. 20-25) performing a stage adaptation of family-friendly wizardry.

"The Kimmel Center's upcoming season has something for everyone. We are excited to engage the Philadelphia region with a mix of rising stars, international jazz artists and touring ensembles, and a new stage adaptation inspired by Harry Potter that is sure to delight young and young at heart alike," said Kimmel Center President and CEO Anne Ewers.

After a successful sold-out performance with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra last season, rising star Cécile McLorin Salvant returns to Philadelphia to peform a solo jazz recital of new works in the intimate Perelman Theater. Salvant has been captivating fans since she made her debut in 2010 as the youngest winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition at the Kennedy Center. Since then, her debut album release, Woman Child (2013), earned her a 2014 Grammy Award nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. She continues to distinguish herself as a compelling jazz virtuoso and creative spirit with a great appreciation of jazz traditions. As Stephen Holden of the The New York Times states, "If anyone can extend the lineage of the Big|Brave Three-Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, and Ella Fitzgerald-it is this 23-year old virtuoso."

Two of the biggest names in Latin jazz -- 10 time Grammy Award-winning Arturo Sandoval and renowned conguero (congo player) Poncho Sanchez -- team up for an electrifying evening of Afro-Cuban inspired music. Sandoval is greatly influenced by jazz pioneer Dizzy Gillespie and is a founding member of the Cuban-style big band Irakere. His music is an explosive mixture of jazz, classical, rock, and traditional Cuban music. Combined with Sanchez's fiery stew of straight ahead jazz, gritty soul and infectious melodies, the duo brings a unique and dynamic jazz performance to the Merriam Theater.

The world's most popular brass ensemble Canadian Brass returns next season, joined by Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church Organist Jeffrey Brillhart. Canadian Brass is known for their genre-bending versatility and joyous performances of trademark Baroque, Dixieland tunes, new compositions, and arrangements that have elevated the art of the brass ensemble to new levels. The quintet features five astonishing talents: visionary founder and tuba legend Chuck Daellenbach with Caleb Hudson andChristopher Coletti on trumpets, Achilles Liarmakopoulos on trombone, and Bernhard Scully on horn. They have performed in most of the world's major concert halls, sold two million albums worldwide, and contributed to nearly 600 new works and arrangements. The Philadelphia program will also feature the majestic sounds of The Fred J. Cooper Memorial Organ.

Families may also experience the magic and mystery of Harry Potter when the Olivier Award nominatedPotted Potter - the Unauthorized Harry Experience arrives in Philadelphia (October 20-25) following a sold out world tour. The riotous two-man show invites audiences to play a real-life game of Quidditch, and takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing the beloved seven Harry Potter books into a hilarious 70-minute production that promises both fun and laughter for theatergoers of all ages.
