Cavenaugh and Abramson Set for 3/19 'New Voices'

The third season of the acclaimed "Monday Nights, New Voices" series continues March 19 at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre. Matt Cavenaugh, who stars in Broadway's Grey Gardens, hosts the evening, which features the talents of Ryah Nicole Nixon, Lianne Dobbs, Cara Leslie, Amy Wren and Melissa Driscoll. Show time is 7 PM.

Deborah Abramson is the evening's guest composer and will accompany the singers on selections from her songbook. Barbara Anselmi is the musical director.

Composer Scott Alan launched the "Monday Nights, New Voices" series to "showcase some of today's brightest new talent in New York."

Cavenaugh is currently starring alongside Christine Ebersole and Mary Louise Wilson in Broadway's Grey Gardens.  He first created the roles of Joe and Jerry in the world premiere of Grey Gardens at Playwrights Horizons.  He was previously seen in New York as Bud in the Broadway production of Urban Cowboy.  National tour credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie. Selected regional credits include 2 Lives, Palm Beach, Carousel Princesses, Anything Goes, Footloose, and Dorian.  TV work includes "One Life to Live," and film credits include Sexual Dependency.

Abramson is a graduate of the NYU Musical Theatre Program. Her composing credits include Songs of Innocence and Experience (with William Finn), Marco Polo (with Peter Mills) and Seasick (with Judson Pearce Morgan). Abramson's musical director/associate musical director credits include Spring Awakening, Bernarda Alba, Dessa Rose, James Joyce's The Dead and My Life with Albertine.
