CSO Seeking Volunteers for PICNIC WITH POPS

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is accepting volunteer applications for the 2010 Picnic With the Pops and Popcorn Pops. All concerts are evening performances and held on the lawn of Chemical Abstracts Service (2540 Olentangy River Rd.).  The first show is Spectrum in a Tribute to Motwon and R&B on Saturday, June 19.  Additional concert include Patriotic Pops on July 3 and 50's Dance Party: A Tribute to Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens on July 17.  For more information on volunteering visit www.picnicwiththepops.com/volunteer.

Friday, July 9 - Beach Party! (Popcorn Pops)
Saturday, July 10 - Peter Cetera
Saturday, July 17 - ‘50s Dance Party: A Tribute to Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, and Ritchie Valens
Friday, July 23 - Abracadabra (Popcorn Pops)
Saturday, July 24 - Kansas
Friday, July 30 - The Ohio State University Marching Band
Saturday, July 31 - The Ohio State University Marching Band

Duties can include set up, clean up, decorating, ticket taking, or assisting with children's activities. Interested parties can register online at www.picnicwiththepops.com/volunteer or by contacting
Carolyn Watkins, Vice Chair, Volunteer Committee 614-262-1330.  For each concert worked, each volunteer will receive one free ticket and a voucher to purchase a ticket at half price.

The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, education excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. The CSO also appreciates the support of the Columbus Foundation, assisting donors and others in strengthening our community for the benefit of all of its citizens, and the Greater Columbus Arts Council, supporting the city's artists and arts organizations since 1973.

Founded in 1951, the Columbus Symphony is the only full-time, professional symphony in central Ohio.
