Next Monday, January 13 at 2:00pm, The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center will host "Central Europe Young and Restless: A Symposium".

With Martina Cerná (Czech Republic), Dáša Ciripová (Slovakia), Sylvia Huszár (Hungary), Attila Szabó (Hungary), and Joanna Krakowska (Poland).

Join us for an afternoon of presentations on contemporary Czech, Slovak, Hungarianand Polish theater. Focusing on the youngest generation of Central European theatre-makers, the event will feature talks about the current icons of Central Europe, the new performing arts scene in Slovakia, the political history and new aesthetics in the Hungarian theater, and the memory of the Holocaust in contemporary Polish theater. The presentations will be bookended with excerpted readings from Poker Face by Petr Kolecko (Czech Republic) and The Mayor II by Malgorzata Sikorska-Miszczuk (Poland), directed by Sarah Stites, followed by a discussion with the presenters.
