Vulture reports that the new CBS action-adventure drama SUPERGIRL, starring GLEE's Melissa Benoist in the title role and Jeremy Jordan (SMASH, NEWSIES) as Winslow "Winn" Schott, will move to The CW Network in the fall.

The show will be a good fit for the network which already features the DC Comics-themed shows THE FLASH, ARROW and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW in its line-up. All of the shows are produced by Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. The CW is partially owned by the CBS Corporation.

SUPERGIRL is based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El, Superman's (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Tony Award winner Laura Benanti is featured in a recurring role.

Jeremy Jordan created the role of Jack Kelly in Newsies (Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations), Clyde Barrow in Bonnie and Clyde (TheatreWorld Award for Best Actor in a Musical), J.M. Barrie in Finding Neverland at the A.R.T., and played Tony in West Side Story on Broadway.

Recently, he took part in concert performances of both A Bed And A Chair at Encores! and Parade at Avery Fisher Hall. He played the lead role of Jimmy Collins in the television series "Smash," Jamie in "The Last Five Years," and appeared in "Elementary," "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit" among others; as well as in the film Joyful Noise.
