CBS News' FACE THE NATION WITH BOB SCHIEFFER is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FACE THE NATION finished first in viewers, adults 25-54 (tied with NBC) and households (tied with NBC) on Sunday, July 7. The CBS broadcast posted 2.43m viewers, 0.6/03 in adults 25-54 and 1.8/05 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. Editor's Note: FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 66% of the CBS affiliates.

Compared to the same day last year, FACE THE NATION is even in adults 25-54 - the demographic most important to those who advertise in News.

Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is first in viewers, adults 25-54 and households. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION is up +8% in viewers (3.15m from 2.91m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and +14% in adults 25-54 (0.8/03 from 0.7/03) compared to last year.

On the broadcast, CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett substituted for Bob Schieffer and interviewed Deborah Hersman, chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-CA), Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, and Janet Murguia, president and CEO of the National Council of La Raza. CBS News Correspondent Clarissa Ward reported the latest on the protests in Cairo. Garrett also hosted a political roundtable featuring David Rohde of Reuters, Michael O'Hanlon of the Brookings Institute, Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report and CBS News Political Director John Dickerson.
