Linda Dozoretz, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and loved ones after finally losing a 30-year battle to cancer and heart problems.

A successful publicist, Linda never stopped marveling at the incredible life experiences her career provided. Linda's long-time clients included Academy Award and Grammy-winning composer Burt Bacharach, Doris Day (and she also was the executive director of the non-profit Doris Day Animal Foundation), Martina Navratilova, Rosemary Clooney, Music Theatre International, the American Film Institute, many of the top sports stars of the 1980s-2000s, and, most recently working with Candy Spelling on book, merchandising, television and public service projects.

Since the 1980s, she worked on crisis public relations campaigns for hundreds of celebrities, productions, companies and non-profits. At this time of her passing, Linda was continuing her teaching career at UCLA Extension, with her class on PR for non-profit organizations.

Born in Los Angeles and a graduate of San Fernando Valley State College (now Cal State University at Northridge), Linda is survived by her brother (Michael), three nieces (Danielle, Frieda and Patrice) and a large family and friends across the country. During college, a part-time typing job for a publicity agency immediately convinced her to pursue this career.  Over the years, she worked for agencies including Ruder-Finn and Guttman and Pam; but spent the longest time at Rogers & Cowan, where she was president of four divisions (including establishing the book, advertising and special project divisions), reporting to both Warren Cowan and Henry Rogers and learning from them both.

A private burial is being arranged.
