Bway Cabaret Fest to Star Skinner, Ripley, Gallagher, Etc.

A concert reuniting Tony Award-nominated Side Show stars Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner will be among the highlights of the second annual Broadway Cabaret Festival, which will take place from October 20th through 22nd at Town Hall (123 W. 43rd St.). As with last year's festival, Scott Siegel ("Broadway by the Year") writes and hosts.

Tony-nominee Stephen Bogardus (Man of La Mancha, Falsettos), Leslie Kritzer (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Tony-nominee Rebecca Luker (upcoming Mary Poppins, Nine, The Music Man). Jack Noseworthy (Sweet Smell of Success), Noah Racey and Nancy Lemenager (both of the Kern-scored Never Gonna Dance) and Michael Winther (Songs from an Unmade Bed, Mamma Mia!) will be among the performers toasting the songs of the legendary composer in "Music in the Air: A Tribute to Jerome Kern" on October 20th at 8 PM. The stars will perform songs from Show Boat, Sweet Adeline, Roberta, Music Is in the Air, Leave it to Jane and others.

Skinner (Kennedy Center Mame, The Full Monty) and Ripley (The Baker's Wife at Paper Mill, Rocky Horror Show) will sing side by side once again in "Emily Skinner & Alice Ripley Sing Broadway!" on October 21st at 8 PM. The two received a joint 1998 Tony Award nomination for their performances as Daisy and Violet Hilton in Side Show. They will sing songs from their double-act CDs "Unsuspecting Hearts" and "Duets," among other numbers.

"Broadway Originals!" will feature stars performing songs from shows they originally starred in.
Tony-nominee Veanne Cox (Caroline, or Change, Company), Tony Award-winner Helen Gallagher (Pal Joey, No, No, Nanette), Tony Award-winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins' Broadway), Jeb Brown (Ring of Fire), Christiane Noll (Jekyll & Hyde), and Racey and Lemenager (Never Gonna Dance) are among the stars who will appear in the show, with more to be announced. That concert will be presented on October 22nd at 3 PM.

Full casting will be announced in the fall.
