Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College continues its 2013-2014 season on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 3pm with My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm Home for the Holidays. Master comedian Steve Solomon performs the hilarious holiday sequel to his award-winning Off-Broadway hit My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm In Therapy!, which played at Brooklyn Center in April of 2012. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by phone at 718-951-4500 (Tues-Sat, 1pm-6pm) or online at www.BrooklynCenterOnline.org.

A time of peace. A time of joy. A time of remembering why you left home in the first place! The therapy continues as Steve is once again thrown together with all of his dysfunctional friends and family members, this time in a riotous celebration of the holiday season. Written and performed by Mr. Solomon, My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Home for the Holidays! is a solo tour-de-force that reintroduces Brooklyn audiences to a cast of more than 30 characters inspired by his multiethnic upbringing in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.

Growing up in Sheepshead Bay was the perfect training ground for a dialectician and comedian. As the class clown, Steve learned at an early age how to use his gift for imitating accents to his advantage. He became a physics teacher and a school administrator on Long Island, New York, using humor, dialects and sound effects in teaching as a real life version of Gabe Kaplan's "Welcome Back Kotter."

Eventually, Steve left his academic career behind and turned his attention to his latent love of making people laugh. As he puts it, "I decided to follow my heart and become an impoverished comedy writer and performer." Steve's show, the two-time award winning My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm In Therapy has met with rave reviews to sold-out crowds throughout the country and became one of the longest running one-man comedy shows in history. This hilarious show highlights the very best of his writing talents. He has written two sequels to his original hit: My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm STILL in Therapy and his hilarious holiday show My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish and I'm Home for the Holidays! All three of Steve's shows are currently touring the United States and have received critical acclaim, including nominations from The Connecticut Critics Circle and The San Francisco Drama Desk.
