Four new Broadway seasons will be toasted in a quartet of new entries in the acclaimed Broadway by the Year series. Presented at Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues), the evenings will pay musical tribute to musicals from 1930, 1956, 1968 and 1978.

Created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel, the series has been called
"Witty, breezily paced...informative...valuable...the right perspective of lighthearted nostalgia… a reasonably priced alternative to City Center's Encore Series," by The New York Times. The concerts traditionally feature starry casts performing a mixture of well-loved, bell-ringing and downright obscure showtunes. The next four concerts will feature musical direction by Ross Patterson.

The 1930 concert will feature songs from
Girl Crazy, The New Yorkers, Strike Up the Band and The International Revue. That evening, which will kick off the new Broadway by the Year season, will be presented on March 6th, 2006 at 8 PM. Bells Are Ringing, Candide, Li'l Abner, My Fair Lady, The Most Happy Fella and Mr. Wonderful will be featured as the Broadway Musicals of 1956. That concert will be performed on April 3rd, 2006 at 8 PM.

The Broadway Musicals of 1968 will give its audience the chance to hear songs from Hair, Her First Roman, Zorba, Golden Rainbow and Promises, Promises. That concert will be performed on May 1st. Ballroom, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, On the Twentieth Century, Eubie!, WorkingTimbuktu will be the musicals featured from 1978, with the concert taking place on June 19th.

Broadway Musicals evenings from
and 1925, 1933, 1939, 1940, 1943, 1951, 1953, 1964, and most recently, 1926, are preserved on CD (on the Bayview Records label).

Subscription packages for all four concerts, which
range from $140-$160, are currently available by calling (212) 840-2824; single tickets will be up for grabs beginning January 3rd, 2006. For more information, visit www.the-townhall-nyc.org.
