The classic musical MY FAIR LADY runs from June 5th through 21st at the historic Fox Theatre in Redwood City (2215 Broadway Street, Redwood City, CA) and June 27th and 28th at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey (417 Alvarado Street, Monterey, CA).

MY FAIR LADY, also pegged in many circles to be "the perfect musical," is based upon George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion." In this timeless story, Henry Higgins, a Professor of Phonetics, encounters Eliza Doolittle, a cockney flower girl, one cold March night at Covent Garden market. He declares to his friend Colonel Pickering that in three months time he will be able to fully transform Eliza into a high society debutante. Classic numbers Wouldn't It Be Loverly?, The Rain In Spain, and A Hymn To Him evoke and bring to life the musical's rich, thematic elements while transporting audiences back to Edwardian London amidst diverse and unforgettable characters.

"Our production of My Fair Lady explores illumination," says Director, Kenneth Savage. "The teaching is mutual: Higgins exposes Eliza to the life of the British upper crust while she brings light into his emotionally sequestered personal life. Grounded within the frame of a stunning crystal palace which doubles as a rigid glass cage, our glass-inspired set not only allows us to explore themes of light and dark but also the stage functions as a space that allows the characters and audience to explore the play through the lens of commodification. As a material that allows outsiders to look into the lives of the upper class and insiders to look out into the world that they are secluded from, glass is what materially separates the different classes and protects what we value enough to put on display... The success of Eliza's transformation and assimilation into British high society is dictated by the Edwardian glass ceiling. Constructed out of the rigid classism of 1912 London, the glass ceiling of this musical bars women from fully realizing their objective of becoming equally respected members of society."

MY FAIR LADY features Samantha Williams (Eliza Doolittle), Scott A. Solomon (Henry Higgins), Praveen Ramesh (Col. Pickering), Sergey Khalikulov (Freddy Eynsford-Hill), Gary Stanford (Alfred P. Doolittle), Karen DeHart (Mrs. Higgins), Kristina Hudelson (Mrs. Pearce), Joseph Hudelson (Zoltan Karpathy) and Leslie Lloyd (Mrs. Eynsford-Hill).
