Broadway Bound Kids will launch an international crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo beginning Dec 3rd as part of the national day of giving, Giving Tuesday. The campaign is raising funds so that underprivileged students can be a part of the program's youth ensemble, The Broadway Bound Players, for FREE! Founded in 2004, this educational arts organization has attracted the attention of several celebrity supporters including John Stamos, Will Chase and Christian Borle - all of whom make an appearance in Broadway Bound Kids' campaign video.

Students participating in the Broadway Bound Players program become an integral part of a theater troupe, receiving musical theater training from professional teaching artists, performing in a full scale musical on a New York City stage, receiving mentorship from the BBK staff and attending master classes with Broadway stars. They are also involved in creating props, sets and costumes for the production. The Broadway Bound Players program is open to students between 4th-8th grades and begins in February 2014. Students will meet every Saturday for 14 weeks and the program will culminate in a full production this May.

"In the past we've run this program at schools with PTA and parent funding, and it's been amazing to see the huge impact on the kids who've participated," notes Erin Glass, founder of Broadway Bound Kids. "We feel it's crucial to provide this program at no cost to students who currently don't have access to the arts. Indiegogo andGiving Tuesday is a great way for people from all over the world to make a huge impact in the lives of these kids!"

John Stamos says he supports Broadway Bound Kids because of the sense of community that they are providing for students. "Theater helped me find my identity and who I was going to be. Whether you're acting or doing make-up or just part of the community, it gives you a place and it gives you purpose. If you get an opportunity to be a part of something like Broadway Bound Kids, do it!"

Tony Award Winner, Christian Borle has been a guest artist for Broadway Bound Kids for the past three years.

"Broadway Bound Kids fosters a level of respect, creativity and support that's like nothing I've ever seen," notes Borle. "Being in the room with those kids and seeing them support each other and learn to respect each other gave me a new way of looking at what I did. So after I would go and visit the kids I'd go to work and I'd feel like doing a little bit better."

Will Chase (Tony Award Nominee and star or Nashville) says, "What I love about what Broadway Bound Kids is doing, especially with The Broadway Bound Players program, is that is allows kids who might not have the means otherwise, to be a part of something that's bigger than themselves."

The fundraising campaign will launch on December 3rd as part of the national day of giving, called Giving Tuesday, and all donations are tax deductible. The fundraiser will run through the beginning of January but donations made on December 3rd make an extra impact. For every $20 raised on Giving Tuesday Indiegogo will give Broadway Bound Kids an additional $1 and FirstGiving will donate an additional 1% of all monies donated on top of that.

When you support the organization you can also receive access to additional "perks" including: thank you cards designed by the kids; tickets to see the final production; video updates from the students; round trip airfare on Jet Blue; private lessons or group performing arts classes from professional teaching artists; musical theater birthday party packages; and Master Classes with Broadway Performers.
