The third installment of "Broadway Backwards" the gender-bending (and nearly sold-out) event of the season, launches its one-night-only concert at American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd) tonight February 4, 2008 from 8-10PM.

Seth Rudetsky will host the evenings, featuring a diverse cast of male singers performing songs traditionally performed by female singers, and vice versa, with all proceeds going to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT) Community Center in New York City.

For two years, the theatre community has demonstrated its support for the Center with this one-night-only, star-studded Broadway benefit concert. The evening features classic show tunes with a twist -in past years Betty Buckley delivered a tender rendition of "Some Enchanted Evening" from South Pacific, while Richard Kind sang "Ulla's Song" from The Producers. And who can forget Matt Cavenaugh and Cheyenne Jackson's performance of "We Kiss in a Shadow," named Best Dynamic Duet of 2006 by Playbill.

Creator Robert Bartley returns as director, Mark Janas once again serves as musical director. The Center also welcomes John Kander and Terrence McNally as event co-chairs.

The concert will showcase performances by: Sy Adamowsky, Brooks Ashmanskas, Michele Blakely, Gary Beach, Danny Beiruti, Sierra Boggess, Tituss Burgess, David Burtka, Charles Busch, Kerry Butler, Len Cariou, Liz Callaway, Jenn Colella, Lilli Cooper, Gavin Creel, Sandy Duncan, Nancy Dussault, Malcolm Gets, Jessica Lee Goldyn, Julie Halston, Ann Harada, Neil Patrick Harris, Cheyenne Jackson, Kathryn Kendall, Lainie Kazan, Aaron Lazar, Charis Leos, Jose Llana, Karen Mason, Lea Michele, Julia Murney, Eryn Murman, Anthony Rapp, Phoebe Strole, Tastiskank (Kate Reinders and Sarah Litzsinger), Jenna Ushkowitz, Tony Yazbeck, and Remy Zaken

The program will be followed by an after-party at the theater, open to major donors. Remaining tickets are $250 and above level. For more information, visit www.gaycenter.org.
