Bucks County Playhouse will present the fall 2016 Visiting Artists Series.

Entertainment events by guest performers ranging from music concerts to theater for young audiences will take place throughout September and October in the luxuriously renovated historic Bucks County Playhouse.

"Say Goodnight Gracie"
October 5 - 9, 2016

Don't miss Alan Safier as George Burns in "Say Goodnight Gracie," running October 5 - 9. This hit Tony-nominated Broadway play by Rupert Holmes ("The Mystery of Edwin Drood") invites you to spend a hilarious, heart-warming evening in the uplifting company of the world's favorite and funniest centenarian. With vintage photographs and video clips from film and television performances, "Say Goodnight Gracie" brings to life Burns' fascinating story. Tickets are $35 - $55.

Theater for Young Audiences: "Once Upon a Time"
October 11, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

On October 11, The Playhouse welcomes Bright Star Touring Theater presenting "Once Upon a Time," recommended for grades K-5. Literature comes to life in this hysterical production, bringing to the stage the stories of "Cinderella" and "Jack and the Beanstalk." Mabel and Lenny, the comic duo who made "Aesop's Fables" such a roaring success, are determined to reenact these two classic fairy tales, undertaking more than a dozen roles each. There will be two performances on October 11 at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tickets are $7 - $11, and discounted groups rates are available for school groups, as well as study guide materials associated with the show and the literature that inspired it.

"Connection Beyond **LIVE** with Medium Marisa Pell"
October 13, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.

Medium Marisa Liza Pell returns to Bucks County Playhouse on October 13 at 7:30 p.m. with her very popular theatrical experience "Connection Beyond **LIVE**." One of the nation's youngest mediums brings a riveting interactive experience to audiences nationwide with a performance inspiring laughter, tears and astounding detail. Experience live readings from the other side during this event, individual messages that are sure to leave you thrilled and amazed! Ms. Pell can be seen or heard on CBS, FOX News, NBC and many major radio programs. Tickets are $20 - $95 with a VIP ticket option that includes a Q&A with Marisa Pell on her life and work as a Medium, and a dinner for two gift certificate to the Ravioli House in Wildwood, NJ.

"Michele Lee: Nobody Does it Like Me, the Music of Cy Coleman"
October 14, 2016 at 8 p.m.

On October 14, the Visiting Artists Series welcomes Broadway legend Michele Lee performing her cabaret show "Michele Lee: Nobody Does it Like Me, the Music of Cy Coleman" presented by the Rrazz Room. Back from her long run in Broadway's "Wicked," Ms. Lee presents a new concert spotlighting the music of the legendary Cy Coleman, including songs like "Nobody Does it Like Me" and "It's Not Where You Start" from her Tony-nominated performance in the musical "Seesaw," along with other magnificent work and some surprises from Coleman's songbook. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $35 - $75.

Stand Up Comedy: Butch Bradley and Dennis Ross
October 15, 2016 at 8 p.m.

The fall Visiting Artists series will conclude with the popular Bucks County Playhouse Comedy night on October 15 at 8 p.m. The October stand-up performance will feature headliner Butch Bradley and Dennis Ross as the opening act. Bradley is a Comedy Central favorite and a regular on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Tickets are $12 - $35, and the price will go up on the day of the event.

Bucks County Playhouse, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, is the oldest and largest professional Equity performing arts center in Bucks County. Under the direction of Tony Award-winning producers, Alexander Fraser and Robyn Goodman, The Playhouse provides first class professional theatrical entertainment as well as community events, partnerships and arts education programming for visitors and residents of New Hope, Doylestown, Lambertville and the Delaware Valley.

Located between Philadelphia and New York, Bucks County Playhouse opened in 1939 in a converted 1790 gristmill after a group of community activists, led by Broadway orchestrator Don Walker and playwright Moss Hart, rallied to save the building. The Playhouse quickly became one of the country's most famous regional theaters, featuring a roster of American theatrical royalty including Helen Hayes, Kitty Carlisle, George S. Kaufman, Grace Kelly, Robert Redford, Bert Lahr, Walter Matthau, Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, Alan Alda, Tyne Daly, Liza Minnelli and Audra McDonald and remained in continuous operation until December 2010. In 2012, The Playhouse re-opened thanks to the efforts of the Bridge Street Foundation, the nonprofit family foundation of Kevin and Sherri Daugherty, and Broadway producer Jed Bernstein.

Since its renovation, significant productions include Terrence McNally's "Mothers and Sons" starring Tyne Daly, which moved to Broadway and was nominated for two Tony Awards, and "Misery" by William Goldman based on the Stephen King novel which also went on to a Broadway run in the 2015-16 season. Two of The Playhouse's recent productions -- "Company" starring Justin Guarini, and William Finn's "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee" -- were named by Wall Street Journal to its "Best of Theatre" list for 2015.
