FRIGID New York presents A Nefarious Laboratory production, THE GOSPEL OF SHERILYN FENN, written and performed by Brad Lawrence and directed by Cyndi Freeman.

The true story of how storyteller Brad Lawrence survived a childhood in the Reagan Eighties, the rise of the moral majority and meth amphetamine, the terrors of sex and nuclear bombs, and his guest role in a sibling's suicide by escaping into pop culture. This is a show about learning compassion for oneself through the saving grace of cable television.

Brad Lawrence (Writer/Performer) was the first storyteller to win back-to back Moth GrandSLAMS and is regularly feature on the Moth MainSTAGE. His writing was most recently featured in McSweeney's. He is both a member and featured storyteller with the BTK Band and a regular at such shows as The Liar Show, Adam Wade's Super Stories, The Risk Podcast and How I Learned. In addition, his solo show, Monsters In The Wood, was presented in the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival to critical acclaim. He performs burlesque as Handsome Brad and is the regular co-host of Hotsy Totsy Burlesque at The Slipper Room. He has co-produced and performed in storytelling and variety shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, South By Southwest Interactive, and in conjunction with WBUR, USA Network, and Grant's Whiskey. Cyndi Freeman (Director) is a two-time FringeNYC award winning solo performer. Her solo shows have also been presented in Boston, Amsterdam, Ireland, the UK and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Festival. Her newest solo show, I Was a Sixth Grade Bigfoot, debuted last year at the FRIGID Festival in NYC. As a storyteller her credits include: The Moth, The Liar Show, Adam Wade's Super Stories, Seth Lind's Told, Risk, and Story Collider. Other credits include The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, Campus Comedy on HBO, and Compromising Situations on Showtime. She also performs burlesque in NYC as Cherry Pitz.
