Get Involved Comedy and the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts are proud to present a night of comedy starring BOBBY COLLINS tonight, September 6 at 7:00 PM. Bobby Collins is always the funniest guy in the room. With more than 200 stand-up performances around the country each year, he is a show-business institution who has made millions laugh. Opening act will be JJ Boyd, and Patchogue's own Joe Mylonas will host the evening.

Tickets are on sale now for the Bobby Collins Comedy Showcase on Saturday, September 6 at 7:00 PM at the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, 71 E. Main St., Patchogue, NY 11772. Tickets: $34-$47 +fee available at www.patchoguetheatre.com, by phone 631-207-1313, or at the box office.

A native of New York, he was literally born into comedy when his father named him for his favorite comedian, Bob Hope. In the 1980s, Bobby left a lucrative position as vice president of Calvin Klein to pursue his dream and ended up working alongside such comedy legends as Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. While other comics have left stand-up behind, Bobby has kept going, preferring the intimacy and energy he finds in live clubs, theaters and casinos.

Over the years, he has hosted VH-1's "Stand Up Spotlight"; toured with Cher, Julio Iglesias, Dolly Parton and Tony Bennett, among others; and released six comedy CDs "On the Inside," "Out of Bounds," "You're Not Coming With Us," "Mr. New York," "I Wanna Go Home," and most recently "I'm on the Boat."

JJ Boyd has been described as a one man sitcom; he is a nationally touring headliner who has played all lower 48 states, Canada, cruise ships and the Bahamas. Has opened for Kevin James, Ray Romano, Robert Klein, Billy Gardell to name just a few.

Patchogue's own Joe Mylonas will be the host for the evening. ABOUT THE PATCHOGUE THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (PTPA) - The Patchogue Theatre first opened in 1923 as the largest theatre in Suffolk County. It still is, with almost 1200 seats. Saved by Village of Patchogue in 1996 and lovingly restored it to its original grandeur, this beautiful facility was in use 195 days with over 140,000 in attendance in our 2013-2014 season. PTPA is an independent not for profit organization that leases the building from The Village of Patchogue and covers all of the operating costs without any subsidies from the Village. Our leadership is a volunteer board of directors with a professional staff and we are thriving thanks to hard work by dozens of volunteers, companies, funding agencies and individuals who support what we do by contributing their time or their money.
