Author Forrest Parker's book, "Beyond the Lords & the New Creatures" (published by iUniverse), will be featured at the 2014 Texas Library Association conference, which will take place in San Antonio, from April 8-11. The Texas Library Association holds a conference every year, which reaches upwards of 6,000 people on average. This year's conference will feature several keynote speakers, including James Patterson and Henry Winkler, and aims to promote new and established authors alike.

For Parker, The Doors weren't just a band, but an inspiration. In his book, "Beyond the Lords & the New Creatures," Parker discusses concepts drawn from Jim Morrison, the late, lead singer for The Doors. Morrison spoke of utilizing one's mind for enlightenment and attaining overall awareness of the world. Similarly, Parker claims "an open mind once opened, is never closed."

Aiming to better the individual and humanity as a whole, Parker firmly believes in learning from the past and present in order to improve the future, which he covers in his book.

Parker is hopeful that upon reading his book, readers will attain, "a renewed enlightened view, adaptable to their own personal life and betterment for themselves."
