The original INTO THE WOODS Witch herself sounds off!

Three-time Tony Award-winning Broadway legend Bernadette Peters discusses a wide range of topics as part of a new interview in promotion of her ongoing national concert series, touching upon the recent stage-to-screen transfer of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS and much more.

Of INTO THE WOODS onscreen, Peters says, "I think it was done very well, and it was so nice to see a musical from the stage translate to the screen, be enjoyable, be done well and become a hit. It's different from the show, which it has to be, because now it's on the screen. There are some things that I miss, that I think you could only capture live. But as far as a movie musical, that story and that music, I'm thrilled that it was up there."

Futhermore, Peters says of current Broadway trends, "The good news is people are going to Broadway. There are a lot of shows, so there's room for everything out there. It goes in waves, but I think as long as people are going, then there will be an opportunity for someone to write - it doesn't have to be jukebox, it could be the way musicals were built with a great story, and great music, something that moves you in some way. I'm just happy that there's room for everything out there. I have to go see "Honeymoon in Vegas." It's funny, because Stephen Sondheim, I think, says it's one of the musicals that are truly done in the old-fashioned way."

Additionally, Peters shares of her Amazon Prime series MOZART IN THE JUNGLE, "We're going on for a second season, and we start in August."
