Bebe Neuwirth, Tony and Emmy Award-winning actress and star of Broadway's hit musical The Addams Family, will co-host, along with her mother, artist Sydney Neuwirth, "The Mother/Daughter Art Show," an exclusive one-night-only benefit sale of photographic prints by Ms. Neuwirth, and paintings focused on ballet dancers by her mother.

The show will take place on Monday, April 4, 2011 at Rouge Space Gallery, 526 West 26th Street, #9E, in New York City, from 6 - 8 pm. Admissions is free, but space is limited. To make a reservation, call 212.221.7300 ext. 133 or email tickets@actorsfund.org.

Net proceeds from the sale of the artwork will benefit The Dancers' Resource, founded in 2007 by Ms. Neuwirth as an outreach program of The Actors Fund. It functions as a support system that addresses the unique needs of dancers.

"My mother and I are thrilled to offer this very special showing to benefit The Dancers' Resource of The Actors Fund, one of the most vital and worthwhile service organizations in our industry," Ms. Neuwirth said, "and we look forward to greeting our guests on April 4."

The Actors Fund is a national human services organization that helps everyone - performers and those behind the scenes - who works in performing arts and entertainment, helping more than 12,000 people directly each year, and hundreds of thousands online. Serving professionals in film, theatre, television, music, opera, radio and dance, The Fund's programs include social services and emergency assistance, health care and insurance, housing, and employment and training services. With offices in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, The Actors Fund has - for nearly 130 years - been a safety net for those in need, crisis or transition.

Over the course of her distinguished career, Bebe Neuwirth has achieved extraordinary success in theatre, television and film. In 1980, she made her Broadway debut in A Chorus Line. She then appeared in Little Me, Dancin' and Sweet Charity, for which she won her first Tony Award, followed by Damn Yankees and Fosse.

Bebe won her second Tony, as well as the Drama Desk, Astaire, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Distinguished Performance of the Year Awards for her portrayal of Velma in Chicago. A few years later she played Roxie in the show. Her broad diversity of roles in Regional theatre and off-Broadway have ranged from Anita in West Side Story at the Cleveland Opera to Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew at the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Several years ago she appeared in the critically acclaimed Here Lies Jenny, a music theatre piece comprised entirely of music by Kurt Weill, at the Zipper Theatre. It was directed by Roger Rees and choreographed by Ann Reinking. Currently, Bebe stars as Morticia in the Broadway musical The Addams Family.

Bebe is well known for her work in film and television. She won two Emmys for her role of Lilith Sternin Crane on "Cheers," and was nominated for Emmys for her work on Frasier and for her portrayal of Dorothy Parker in the TV movie "Dash and Lilly." She has appeared in numerous films, including Say Anything, Green Card, Bugsy, Jumanji, Summer of Sam, Liberty Heights, Celebrity and Tadpole.

Ms. Neuwirth toured a symphony show, Bebe Sings Weill and Kander & Ebb, and a piano cabaret show, Stories with Piano. Bebe has two albums planned for this summer - one based on Stories with Piano and the other will be all Kurt Weill.

Ms. Neuwirth is the recipient of the CTFD Rolex Dance Award, the 2007 Dance Magazine Award, and is an Honorary Zeigfeld Girl. She is a vice-chair of The Actors Fund, for whom she founded a program called The Dancers' Resource - a program aimed at relieving the particular emotional and physical challenges faced by dancers.

Sydney Neuwirth has explored and worked with many forms of art expression starting from her early childhood as a member of a family that was in the paint business.

Her love of art, combined with a life-long involvement and passion for ballet, stayed with her through her college years and beyond. After her graduation from Douglas College (N.J.) in 1956 and throughout her married life, she continued her art studies through formal courses and extensive travel both here and abroad. While traveling she visited museums and galleries, visually absorbing the culture and unique geographical aspects of many foreign countries. Inspiration from the richness of these sources is discernible in much of her work.

In addition to employment in newspaper and periodical graphic design, for forty years she has exhibited her watercolors, acrylics, and mixed media collages in galleries throughout the United States.

Her work may be found in numerous private collections from coast to coast and Europe, as well as in commercial and academic venue.
