Broadway and West End star John Barrowman will star in the holiday pantomime Jack & the Beanstalk from December 16th, 2006 through January 27th, 2007 at the New Theatre in Cardiff, Wales.

Andy Jones (as Simple Simon) and Tony Wright (as Dame Trot) will also appear in the pantomime, in which songs, spectacle and broad comedy (often in the form of its man-as-a-woman "dame") are mingled. Barrowman, who will play Jack, previously appeared in a pantomime of Cinderella in London last year.

Barrowman appeared last year on the West End in A Few Good Men. His many West End credits include Anything Goes (both in 1989 and in its 2003 revival), Grease!, The Phantom of the Opera, The Fix, Hair, Aspects of Love, Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast and Chicago, and he has appeared in the States in two Sondheim shows--Broadway's Putting It Together and as Bobby in Company at the Kennedy Center, as well as in Sunset Boulevard. Barrowman has appeared on TV on "Central Park West," and "Titans," and currently plays Captain Jack Harkness on the BBC series "Dr. Who." Film credits include De-Lovely and The Producers.
