Reality T.V. Responsible for West End Boom?
Posted: 10/22/2009
Have you actually seen Lee Mead perform in Joseph or on stage anywhere? His reviews prior to entering Any Dream Will Do were also excellent. Jodie Prenger is also playing the role of Nancy very well. If they were awful, then you may have a point, but otherwise it sounds terrribly like snobby Lovies who like to keep everything to a small select group. I have been a theatre-goer for years so I have also seen performances by supposed "actors" that left me cold. As for Kevin Spacey, much as I admire his film performances, what about all the Hollywood "stars" who are cast in the West End because they are well known and will attract the general public? They aren't all brilliant actors on stage!

RIALTO CHATTER: George Clooney Says a West End Debut 'Would Be Swell'
Posted: 10/22/2009
I don't live either in New York or London but I visit both frequently and I'm an avid fan of Broadway and the West End. My ideal evening's entertainment is to to watch gifted, accomplished actors and actresses performing live in a cleverly written play or a beautifully composed musical. Broadway and the West End give us so many wonderful productions, and it would be absolutely marvellous to see George Clooney live on stage. Go for it George! Your charisma and magnetism are guaranteed to fill every seat of any theater in either of the two greatest cities in the world.

Susan Boyle's Debut Recording, 'I Dreamed A Dream', Becomes Biggest CD Pre-Order in Amazon.com's

Susan an "amateur vocalist?" No amateur could stir your soul the way Susan does. She is a professional singer in every sense of the word. I don't think she has a clue as to how deeply her fans love her. With a month to go I expect sales will continue to climb to new heights. Well done, Susan!

No I've seen the person in the pic post elsewhere about how exciting it was to be first at other book signings by the same person. Its what she does. Still I guess if you have nothing else to do, why not.

STAGE TUBE: Liza Minnelli Guests On Australian Idol!
Posted: 10/22/2009
Oh Liza, when you smile at me all the clouds roll away :P It's so great to see you show up those dick heads on the judging panel of Aust. Idol. Unfortunate also that Australia has changed so much in the 20 years you've been away, that we almost speak a different language now! The dyke chick said "Nah it's all good but" so quickly, you thought she said "I should kick some butt!' There was a few attempts at being funny from the moron host at the start, he didn't have a hope of being anywhere near your league when it comes to comedy. You were so amazing at the Opera House last Friday night. It was truly one of the most memorable moments I have ever had of experiencing live performance! And I cannot thank you enough for your final song choice - being a Peter Allen song. And your guesture to him at the end, was the only acknowledgement neccesry. Love, Ray.

Annex Theatre Presents HOT PANTS 10/30-11/20

Admit it, Troy. You are in the wrong. If you didn't think so, you wouldn't hide behind a pseudonym to lob weak attacks at Andy Christie. Victoria, David, Christen, Jim and I have all worked with Andy and can attest to his integrity and generosity. You also worked with Andy, remember? About six months ago? When he invited you to appear on The Liar Show? Taking inspiration from someone to create your own original show is wonderful. Had you done that, you would have had the support of your storytelling peers. Taking the entire concept, down to the smallest detail, and calling it your own is just lazy. Oh, and it's stealing. Changing the name doesn't change that fact.

RIALTO CHATTER: George Clooney Says a West End Debut 'Would Be Swell'

There was talk of this a few years ago, a lady called Sarah I think who was a producer said she had been in talks with George........never heard anymore about it. I'd be happy if he just sat on a chair on stage and talked - I love his voice and he's clever, interesting and funny - as well as handsome of course.

New Shakespeare Play Detected?
Posted: 10/22/2009
To find a new play by Shakespeare is HUGE. However, the world of the Elizabethan theater was notorious for playwrights borrowing, stealing or improving on other, already written plays. Also, Shakespeare may have collaborated on plays that were suppressed by the government ( a play about Sir Thomas More, for instance).

I don't think many of us are copyright lawyers or intellectual property experts, and aren't actually qualified to discuss this issue on those terms. And it's even harder to talk about intellectual property when you talk about storytelling -- it's right up there with cave painting as the oldest art form. However, appearing in someone's show, then announcing that you've created a show that is *exactly* like the one you just appeared is pathetic. I don't know if being pathetic and deceptive is against the law or not. But if it is, you're up there with the Balloon Boy's dad. There's only one internet, so I'm not sure how you thought nobody would work this one out ... Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to work on my screenplay. It's a love story set on an enormous boat that sinks in the end. I'm thinking of calling it "Gigantic."

This is the best news ever, and I'm already planning my trip to America for it. I'm hanging to find out exactly when it's going to be and I really hope they don't change too much of the music, especially all the mum and carrie duets and the destruction
