BroadwayWorld's Richard Ridge was thrilled to sit down and speak with nearly all of this year's Tony Award nominees at the official Tony Brunch on May 2, 2012, and we will be bringing you special coverage on all of them throughout the awards season. Today we chat with Diane Paulus, nominated for Best Direction of a Musical for The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess.

In May 2008, Paulus was named the artistic director for the Harvard University American Repertory Theater. Paulus was nominated for the Best Director Tony Award for her revival of Hair. She has received the 2009 Harvard College Women’s Leadership Award and the Columbia University IAL Diamond Award. In 2011, at the American Repertory Theater, she staged a production of the opera The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, which transferred to Broadway in January 2012 and will be going on national tour in 2013.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from the Beacon Theatre, on the CBS television network on Sunday, June 10, 2012.
