Composer and lyricist Ryan Scott Oliver will open the 2016 season of Lincoln Center's acclaimed AMERICAN SONGBOOK series with a free concert tonight, January 19 at 7:30 pm in the David Rubenstein Atrium. Can't make it to the show? No worries- check out the full show below!

Oliver received the most votes in the "Invest in the Future of American Song" online contest, developed through a partnership between Prudential Investment Management and Lincoln Center.

Called "the future of Broadway...a major new voice in musical theater" (Entertainment Weekly), Oliver's distinct work combines a powerful pop influence, rich harmony, and stories steeped in myth. His original musicals include Darling, a Jazz Age retelling of Peter Pan, and the "playful, silly-smart" riff on Orpheus, Jasper in Deadland (New York Times). His genre-bending multimedia 35MM: A Musical Exhibitionis currently performed worldwide. Oliver is currently crafting a trilogy of new American musicals that includes We Foxes, a Southern Gothic thriller, and Rope (for Grove Entertainment), which follows the extraordinary journey and unlikely bond of two boys during the Civil War.
