Summer has officially arrived and Camelbeach in Tannersville, Pennsylvania is giving their guests yet another great reason to visit their nationally acclaimed waterpark. Their newest addition, "Mummy's Cove," a fully themed family fun zone, is now open where youngsters and their parents can engage in a fun and safe environment. There are miles of smiles at this fascinating new attraction where children can splash in the 1-foot pool depth and enjoy more than 25 interactive water features that include pint-sized slides, a miniature tipping bucket for tiny explorers, sprinklers, bubblers, geyser jets, water wheels and canons. The comfortable seating along the shallow beach entry allows parents to keep good watch over their children or they can join in the fun.

We attended the recent ribbon cutting ceremony and official grand opening of Mummy's Cove where we met Camelback Mountain Resort Owner and President, Arthur Berry III. He spoke to us about the incredible popularity of Camelbeach Waterpark. He pointed out that the scenic backdrop of the mountain lends itself perfectly to relaxing and enjoying summer fun. Berry also told us that Camelbeach has an outstanding staff and for the past 4 years it has ranked as one of the top waterparks in the country.

In addition to Mummy's Cove, Camelbeach has over 35 attractions to suit all ages and everyone's interests. Play at Pharaoh's Cove interactive play structure, float on the Blue Nile Adventure River and take a swim in the Olympic Pool. Ride the waves in the Kahuna Lagoon wave pool or take your family raft down the Titan, a ride that runs the length of nearly three football fields and winds down the natural slope of Camelback Mountain. There's also the excitement of the FlowRider surfing simulator ride and the Vortex & Spin Cycle, the only duo bowl slides in the United States.

Guests can also take a break from the aquatic attractions and take a special scenic adventure on the Sullivan Sky Ride that goes from the mountain base to summit. This chairlift ride offers a sweeping view of the Pocono Mountains and Camelbeach.

Camelbeach's amenities make just being there an ideal getaway. After your group works up a good appetite, there are fourteen different eateries and concessions that offer a wide variety of food including ice cream treats, homemade BBQ and Italian specialties. Guests can also rent picnic tables or Private Cabanas in advance.

It's early in the summertime season so plan more than one visit to Camelbeach for a truly great Pocono experience. Take a scenic drive and enjoy the journey, only 90 minutes from New York City and two hours from Philadelphia. And when you stay at Camelback Resort, you can enjoy both Camelbeach and their renowned indoor waterpark, Aquatopia.

Camelbeach is located at 301 Resort Drive, Tannersville, Pa. 18372.
