It Shoulda Been You plays its final performance on Broadway, today Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 W 47th Street). Directed by Emmy and Tony Award-winner, David Hyde Pierce, It Shoulda Been You will have played 31 preview performances and 135 regular performances. In honor of the show's journey, BroadwayWorld takes you a look back at its run on the Great White Way!

It Shoulda Been You features an original book & lyrics by Brian Hargrove and music by Barbara Anselmi. Tony and Emmy Award-winner Tyne Daly and Tony Award-winner Harriet Harris, led the all-star cast of Broadway luminaries.

The full creative team for It Shoulda Been You includes Josh Rhodes (Choreography) Anna Louizos (Set Design), William Ivey Long (Costume Design), Ken Billington (Lighting Design), and Nevin Steinberg (Sound Design), with additional lyrics by Jill Abramovitz, Carla Rose Fisher, Michael Cooper, Ernie Lijoi and Will Randall.

In 2011, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU received its world premiere at George Street Playhouse in New Jersey, which also featured cast members Tyne Daly, Harriet Harris, Edward Hibbert, and Lisa Howard, who would remain with the production when it finally transferred to Broadway in April 2015. Also joining the quartet for the New York run were Sierra Boggess, David Burtka, Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover, Josh Grisetti, Adam Heller, Michael X. Martin, Anne L. Nathan, Nick Spangler and Chip Zien along with Farah Alvin, Gina Ferrall, Aaron C. Finley, Mitch Greenberg, and Jillian Louis.

The new musical began preview performances on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 ahead of an official opening on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Check out a look back at the cast in action below!

With performances well underway, the cast of IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU took their first 'official' bows on Broadway as part of the production on Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Naturally, BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture all of the big moments from celebratory night!

True to its theme, IT SHOULDA BEEN YOU held a number of events for couples throughout its run, including the marriage of two fans at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre! Check out photos from the pair's big night on Broadway below!

The Original Broadway cast album for It Shoulda Been You was recorded by Ghostlight Records and was released digitally on Friday, August 14, 2015. The album's physical release is currently slated for Friday, September 18. On recording day, BWW went inside the studio with Daly, Harris and the rest of the cast to shap some shots of the process!

Licensing for future productions of the hilarious, crowd-pleasing musical will be available through Music Theatre International (MTI).
