BWW Congratulates KINKY BOOTS' Annaleigh Ashford and Joe Tapper on Their Marriage!

BroadwayWorld sends its congratulations to Broadway's Annaleigh Ashford and actor Joe Tapper, who were married in a ceremony at Devil's Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colo., on July 29!

As reported by The New York Times, the officiant, a Universal Life minister who has known Tapper since undergrad, said during the ceremony, "It's as though Joe had been in a dimly lit room and you found the dimmer switch set at 5 and promptly turned it up to 11."

The couple met at a lunch with Ashford's manager Beth Rosner, then ended up running into each other randomly around the city when Ashford returned to NYC for her starring role in Legally Blonde in 2007. They eventually went out on a date, continued to see each other and later moved in together in New York City. Soon after, Tapper proposed during a trip to Six Flags in Jackson, N.J.

The wedding on Monday was theatre- and western-inspired and took place on a stage in a field surrounded by mountains, with a whimsical ranch gate backdrop decorated with barbed-wire hearts and white ribbons, creating a curtain. The bridal party was mostly actors, who danced out through the curtains, followed by the bride.

Ashford is currently starring on Broadway in Kinky Boots. Her other stage credits include Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair.
