After countless hours of rehearsal over many months, All That Jazz, our production with the Naden Band is officially over. I am so proud of our school and the Naden band-of the Royal Canadian Navy - thought I would clarify who they were) for the amazing 2 shows we put on. It's a strange thing to have something we have spent so long getting ready for to be over in just 1 day and now we are completely moving on, it feels all too sudden. That's showbiz I guess. I must admit the nights off since we are no longer rehearsing for the show are nice. Though, we won't be missing musical rehearsals for too long; we start Disney's Beauty and The Beast rehearsals Saturday! But, like I was saying, this is the last week of real school where we have our final handwritten assignments due (and a lot of them!). It's nice to have those nights off to finish homework or get a few extra hours of sleep, even if we do miss rehearsals.

Also, with these extra nights off, and the fact that I won't be spending 12-13 hours at school anymore since we are switching to Beauty and the Beast rehearsals, I won't always be needed and will have more time to write even more here in my Broadway World blog! I must say I am absolutely loving writing these blogs for a site I have spent countless hours poring over for years. Broadway World is my key into the grand theater world of NYC, a place that I adore and dream of being a part of one day. I've only been to New York twice, but both times I was so mesmerized by the energy, I was completely blown away at the amount of talent bubbling from inside.

I recently just returned from my latest trip to New York with a group of other CCPA students. The New York Study Tour left me so inspired; not just as a performer, but as an artist. I am so grateful that the school makes this opportunity for us. It puts all our hard work into a new perspective and there are times where we really need that perspective to remember why we work as hard as we do. One of my favorite moments on the trip (other than seeing all the shows and singing at Birdland) was when we got to have a Q&A and Talkback with the leads of Beautiful: A Carole King Musical. First, this musical is now my all-time favorite musical that I have ever seen live; with it's amazing sets, incredible lighting design, costumes & the crazy costume changes, the music and the amazing actors playing wonderful roles... it's become a dream musical for me. I hope I get to perform in it one day. Second, these two leads were CANADIAN! How amazing is that! As a young, aspiring Canadian actor, that is so inspiring to see. That could be you one day, though sometimes it seems impossible, this just shows you the "impossible," is possible! Then there's even more inspiring Broadway news not just for Canadians, but for us CCPA'ers new and old. Sam Strasfeld, a CCPA alumni is making his way onto the Broadway stage in the 2017 revival of Miss Saigon. Sam was seen previously in the Broadway version of Disney's Mary Poppins. Hopefully we will have even more CCPA students making their way to major stages all over the world, and maybe I will be able to say, one day, that I was one of them. I see so much amazing talent every day within our college walls, it's like our own little mini New York, I don't doubt that you will be hearing about students from CCPA 2017 in a few year's time.

Well, I'm off to my final classes of the year! Count on some more "Beauty and The Beast" updates next week, including my reaction to the movie version. Until then, stay classy and sassy.
