Exactly three weeks before "Shrek" goes up in front of an audience, we ran through the entire first act. The show was fine until we reached the "What's up Duloc" number that I'm in. It is still, even after weeks of practice, a complete and utter mess. I'm worried that the dance won't be ready to perform come show time.

"What's up Duloc" is one of the hardest and longest dances in the show. We are all supposed to look exactly the same to show that we are perfect. In Lord Farquaad's world, everyone must be the same to be perfect. We have to look the same, act the same, and worship Lord Farquaad.

My favorite song in the show is "Freak Flag". This song is about the Fairytale creatures realizing they have the power to stop Lord Farquaad. I am not in this number, but I love it anyway. I love all the harmonies, and the general melody.

This week, we got our costume payment slips. We are renting costumes. Our parents got a slip with the amount of money due. I have three costumes. Each costume is $60. My mother is outraged that we have to pay a total of $180. I wish I could keep my costume, and my mother is concerned that the costumes won't fit me.

I have memorized the lyrics to all the songs in the show. Sometimes people blank out and forgot a verse. I have to restrain myself from singing all the lines to the songs that the people singing sometimes forget. I want to scream out the lyrics when people forget them.

Lining the hallways, there are huge paintings for the show. The scenery is gorgeous, and I have seen pieces of the sets in different classrooms. Next Friday, all the scenery will be carried onstage.

Yuki is not the only other instrumentalist besides our music teacher playing piano. This week two other girls came in with instruments. One girl had a flute and I'm not sure what the other girl was playing.

I have high expectations for this performance. I hope that the show is spectacular. I am still slightly nervous about "What's up Duloc", but I think we will be able to put it together. I'm extremely excited for the performance. I hope that everyone there thinks it was fantastic!
