After our final rehearsal for the play, Shrek, I was told to write some stuff down so I could think about what it was like and what I might have learned. I'm sad that it's almost over. I'm going to miss play practice so much. It was so much fun. I dance and perform in dance recitals each year but this is the only time I will be in Shrek with these people.

I learned it's very hard to put on a production. From figuring out a schedule to props to trying to fix costumes that came with defects, our teachers have worked very hard. It's really only been four people, our principal, a fourth grade teacher, our music teacher and a choreographer but they have put so much work into this. Our art teacher has made great backdrops and a fifth grade teacher helped with much of the set. That's not a lot of people when you think about it.

I didn't know the fourth grade teacher going into this but she really impressed me. She worked so hard and did so much. I will miss our choreographer and music teacher the most. They are both great teachers with an extremely high skill level in music and dance. I don't know that I will have teachers like them again.

If I could have played any part, I would have wanted to be Gingy/Fairy. Gingy is puppet that is spoken by a fairy. She has a song that I love and I love gingerbread cookies.

The Duloc number has improved dramatically. We have all put in tons of effort and it shows.

And the end of rehearsal today when we got in our circle and said one word about what we were feeling, I said "anticipation."
