BLACK PROPHET DOWN, a solo theatre piece by Ian Tucker (A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE TALENT SHOW), performed by Brendon Daniels (ROOILAND) with additional dialogue and direction by Bo Petersen (DEAD YELLOW SANDS) will run at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre this October.

in BLACK PROPHET DOWN, the most powerful man in the world is not feeling very powerful today. Burnt by foreign flashpoint, battered by bigotry and tormented by cyber-terrorists, Barack Obama is staring down the barrel of a lame duck presidency. His dream has turned to ashes in the mouths of the faithful and expectant. On the eve of a visit to Africa, he begins to confront his legacy in the huge shadow of the Mandela mantle. And this thing he knows beyond any calling: he cannot, and will not, go down without a fight.

BLACK PROPHET DOWN runs at the Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre from 24 October - 5 November, with shows taking place at 19:00. Tickets cost R80-R90 and can be booked online or at the bar, anytime during its regular opening hours. Telephone bookings can be made on 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated on 76 Strand Street in Cape Town's CBD. Find out more about the venue on Facebook or Twitter.
