Actor ZACH VILLA is earning high-praise for his transformative starring role as a gender-bending rebel in James Bird's (Eat Spirit Eat) award-winning indie film HONEYGLUE, hitting select theaters this month including Los Angeles today, June 10 th.

From Zombot Pictures, this modern love story follows Morgan (Adriana Mather), whose protected middle class life is turned upside down after learning she has three months left to live. That's when she meets Jordan (Villa), a rebellious, gender-defying artist, and together they embark on an adventure of a lifetime. With a hand-held camera, the pair documents their time together, creating a lasting record of what and who really matters in life.

Villa's performance has been touted as "emotionally captivating" and he is thrilled at the response the film has been receiving, earning numerous awards on the film festival circuit. The supporting cast includes Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga franchise), Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction), Jessica Tuck (True Blood) and Christopher Heyerdahl (The Twilight Saga franchise).

A multi-talent, Villa has been acquiring considerable admiration for his work as an actor, musician, vocalist, dancer and songwriter from Broadway to Carnegie Hall to Hollywood.

Villa's newest music venture, Rebel and a Basketcase, an 80's-inspired duo with superstar actress/singer Evan Rachel Wood, unleashed their debut video 'Oh Yeah' this week onRollingStone. The two met performing in a John Hughes Cabaret with the company For the Record as a nod to the now famous characters from The Breakfast Club. Villa has been building a solid reputation on the music scene as the frontman for the LA-based PopRock band, Cylvia, which released their self-titled EP last year to much acclaim.

Coming soon, audiences can catch him in Knate Lee's drama Cardboard Boxer, starring Terrence Howard and Thomas Haden Church. Audiences will recognize his voice as the recurring character 'Carlos Sanchez' on FOX's newest animated series BORDERTOWN (from the creators of Family Guy). His credits also include appearances on the CBS hit NCIS:LA, performing Frank Zappa's 200 Motels with the LA Philharmonic, puppeteering in Broadway's War Horse at Lincoln Center and originating a role in David Byrne's new musical Here Lies Love. Villa is a graduate of The Juilliard School and Interlochen Arts Academy.
