In his debut fantasy novel, "Gramoroth" (published by AuthorHouse), author Darryl L. Swank uses the age-old concept of good vs. evil to tell the story of a Dark Lord named Gramoroth who desires to rule the world. Kraken, the prince of Mankind, and his lieutenant Barakous, are other important characters in the book. The battle unfolds when three infiltrators confront Gramoroth in his Throne Chamber.

Authors like J. R. R. Tolkien and J. K. Rowling have successfully created a huge demand for mythical lands, epic stories and larger-than-life heroes. Swank hopes to capitalize on the public's appetite for fantasy. He also believes that readers love to see a hero win against all odds.

"Tolkien's works inspired my love for the values found within the realm of duty, honor and valor to fight against evil in its truest form even when it may appear hopeless," states Swank.

An excerpt from the book "Gramoroth":

"For soon shall come a world anew
Where evil hides in few
When the sickle in the sand
Plants new land
To grow again for truth"

About the Author
After trying his hand at different careers including warehousing and vendoring, author Darryl L. Swank spent most of his life as a technician. However, he had not forgotten the rough draft he wrote 24 years ago when he was down with injuries after an accident. The result is "Gramoroth". Swank now plans to come up with a sequel to this book that will continue the story to its epic conclusion.
