Audra McDonald to Make Radio Appearances, June 5 & 6

Tony Award-winner and current nominee Audra McDonald, starring in Roundabout Theatre Company's 110 in the Shade, will be featured on WNYC's "Soundcheck" on Tuesday, June 5th from 2:15PM-3:00PM on channel 93.9FM and WOR's "Joan Hamburg Show" on Wednesday, June 6th from 9:00-11:00AM on 710AM. Tune in to hear McDonald discuss her role as "Lizzie Curry" in 110 in the Shade.

McDonald, TonyŽ Award winner John Cullum as "H. C. Curry" and Steve Kazee as "Starbuck" star in a new Broadway production of 110 in the Shade, with a book by N. Richard Nash, music by TonyŽ Award honoree Harvey Schmidt, lyrics by Tony Award honoree Tom Jones, and directed by Lonny Price at Studio 54 on Broadway (254 West 54th St). 

110 in the Shade opened officially on Wednesday, May 9th, 2007.   This limited engagement has been extended two weeks through Sunday, July 29th.

The cast also includes Chris Butler (Noah), Carla Duren (Snookie), Christopher Innvar (File), Bobby Steggert (Jimmy) and Elisa Van Duyne, Colleen Fitzpatrick, Valisia Lekae Little, Darius Nichols, Mamie Parris, Devin Richards, Michael Scott, Will Swenson, Matt Wall, Betsy Wolfe.

110 in the Shade has been nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical, Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical (McDonald), Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical (Cullum), Best Lighting Design of a Musical (Christopher Akerlind) and Best Orchestrations (Jonathan Tunick), two Drama Desk Awards including Outstanding Revival of a Musical and Outstanding Actress in a Musical (McDonald), three Outer Critic's Circle Awards including Outstanding Revival of a Musical, Outstanding Actress in a Musical (McDonald) and Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical (Bobby Steggert). 110 in the Shade was also honored with two Drama League nominations for Distinguished Revival of a Musical and Distinguished Performance (McDonald).
