Asher, Coulter, Etc. to Join Gurland for Final DGUR Show

David Gurland will conclude his celebrated run of performances of the DGUR Concert Series on Thursday, July 12th with "Girl Singers and Songwriters from the 1990's and 2000's." 

The evening, taking place at the West Bank Cafe (407 W. 42nd St.) will feature musical direction by Steven Ray Watkins, and will feature cabaret stars and multiple MAC- and Bistro Award-winners Lisa Asher, Julie Reyburn, and Scott Coulter.

"The last 17 years of popular music has provided our culture with some of the greatest female vocalists and finest female songwriters in music history. Among the vocalists' and songwriters under consideration to be potentially represented- Kelly Clarkson, Macy Gray, Amy Grant, Celine Dion, Annie Lennox, Bonnie Raitt, and more. Please note guest artists and repertoire are subject to change," state press notes.

Gurland has performed in and for sold-out houses at such first class New York venues as BB Kings, Downtime, The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, The Living Room, CB's Gallery, FEZ, The Ace of Clubs, The Metropolitan Room, The Duplex, The Triad, as well as Odette's in New Hope, The Gardenia in LA, Martini Beach in Cape May, Twiggs in San Diego and The Manor in NJ. Gurland has also been the roster of distinguished artists to be included in Carnegie Hall's Neighborhood Concert series, for two seasons in a row. For his nightclub and cabaret performances, he has won the Manhattan Association of Cabaret's Hanson Award, as well as having been nominated an additional five times. He has also won three Back Stage Bistro Awards, more than any other Male Vocalist.
