The Stores at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) invite customers to kick off their holiday shopping in style at the Small Business Saturday Artists Market on Nov. 30. Featuring works by more than 15 Arizona artists, the afternoon event will take place in the Center's Dayton Fowler Grafman Atrium, noon to 8 p.m.
Celebrated on Thanksgiving weekend, Small Business Saturday was started by American Express in 2010 as a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. A fun, relaxing shopping experience, the Small Business Saturday Artists Market will showcase a variety of unique, hand-crafted gifts, including artisan jewelry, ceramics, textiles, limited-edition prints and more. Shoppers will have the opportunity to meet the artists and enjoy a free raffle and other surprises.
Participating artists include: Peggotty Christensen (textiles), Jake Early (serigraphs), Valerie Galloway (jewelry/prints), Karen Holloway (collage/felted purses), Shari Keith (found-object jewelry), Kathryn Korchok (jewelry), Richard Laugharn (vernacular photography/frames), Sandra Luehrson (ceramics), Ann Morton ('Street Gem' jewelry), Christine Santifer (monoprints/cards), Michelle Starts (enamel jewelry), Roy Wasson Valle (t-shirts), Teresa Villegas (prints/cards), Shannon White (mixed-metal jewelry) and Gary Worth (fiber).
The award-winning Stores at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts and SMoCA will be open throughout Small Business Saturday offering more selections of one-of-a-kind artist-made jewelry along with imaginative toys, inspiring recycled/upcycled objects from around the world, furnishings for home and office, and music, books, and greeting cards. Discounts will be offered on selected Store merchandise, and shipping service and free gift wrapping will be available. Purchases at the Stores are tax-free with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit Center and SMoCA.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is located at 7380 E. Second St. in downtown Scottsdale, four blocks south of Indian School Road and three blocks east of Scottsdale Road. Free parking is available in the public parking garage located to the west of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Wells Fargo Avenue. One of the premier performing-arts halls in the western United States, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts showcases a diverse season of dance, music, theater and film from around the world. More than 1,000 indoor and outdoor performances, educational programs, festivals and other events are presented and hosted at the Center each year serving approximately 250,000 participants and contributing substantially to Scottsdale's high quality of life and reputation as a vibrant arts destination.
