Arbery Publications is pleased to announce its latest title: Californian Lives by Martin Foreman. The three one-act one-(wo)man plays set in the Golden State in the 1990s premiered in the King's Head Theatre, London in 2013. Beige magazine called them "a masterclass in the art of the monologue"; The Public Reviews praised the "fine descriptive writing".

The stories of three very different Californians. In Los Feliz a young salesman in a Los Angeles diner tells how he met the woman of his dreams. In Ben and Joe's an older gay man relates how lives were disturbed by the arrival of a young stranger in a quiet bar in the San Fernando Valley. In Sunset a housewife in the mountains of northern California remembers her first date, the man she married and their time together.

Includes the text of the plays and an introduction and afterword which give the background to the origins of the stories.
