Anthony Hopkins joins Jim Sturgess, Sam Worthington, and Ryan Kwanten in Kidnapping Freddy Heineken, a new thriller to be directed by Daniel Alfredson.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hopkins will play Dutch businessman Alfred "Freddy" Heineken. "The grandson of the founder of the Heineken brewery and his driver were kidnapped in 1983 and released only after a ransom of 35 million Dutch guilders was paid, the largest ransom ever paid at the time."

Daniel Alfredson, director of the original 2009 Swedish film version of The Girl Who Played With Fire and its sequel The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, will direct and William Brookfield writes the screenplay based on Peter R. de Vries' book about the case.

The film will begin principal photography in Belgium in late October before moving to Amsterdam and New Orleans.
