Karen Carpenter (Delia & Nora Ephron's Love Loss and What I Wore) will helm three special presentations of CHASING THE RIVER in Midtown Manhattan tonight, October 19th at 6:30PM and tomorrow, October 20th at 12:30PM and 4:30PM.

With a cast that includes Annie Golden (Netflix's Orange is The New Black), Madeleine Martin (Showtime's Californication and Netflix's Hemlock Grove), Carolyn McCormick (Law & Order), EJ Bonilla (AMC's Unforgettable and Guiding Light) and Deborah Rayne (Off Broadway's Spirits of Exit Eleven), CHASING THE RIVER by Jean Giebel explores time, memory and how we remember the past when it's weighed down by trauma.

KAREN CARPENTER is the Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and produces its annual Inge Festival. Karen directed hundreds of our most beloved comediennes in the premiere of Drama Desk award-winner Love Loss and What I Wore, which ran a record three years Off-Broadway. Premieres include New York Times critics' pick Handle With Care, Witnessed by the World, and Admit One. She has directed Michael Keaton in The 24HR Plays, Festival de Sole, Napa; and Kelly Bishop and Beth Fowler in Steel Magnolias for Papermill Playhouse, Surflight Theater's Wizard of Oz, and The Vagina Monologues for Bucks County Playhouse, starring Andrea McArdle & Lea Delaria. For five seasons Ms. Carpenter was Associate Artistic Director of the Tony-winning Old Globe Theater, where she served as artistic producer for over 50 productions. Her most notable directing hits there included Jeffrey Hatcher's Smash, and Harold Pinter's Betrayal. Her production of As You Like It for the Old Globe was deemed Best of the Year by San Diego Magazine. kcdirector.com• @kcdirector
