Bucquisto: The Bar Mitzvah Concert, an evening celebrating the 13th anniversary of the songwriting team of Sammy Buck and Daniel S. Acquisto, will be presented June 17 at The Duplex.

The 7:00 PM concert will feature Becca Ayers (Dogfight, Addams Family), Nick Cearley (The Skivvies, All Shook Up, ...And Then I Wrote A Song About It), James Donegan (Forbidden Broadway), Ann Harada (Smash, Cinderella, Avenue Q), Nathan Johnson (Like You Like It), Amy Rutberg (ABC's Murder In Manhattan, The Divine Sister), George Salazar (Here Lies Love, Godspell, F#%king Up Everything), Hollis Scarborough (Hairspray, Trails), and JoAnna Young (Drowsy Chaperone, Rated P).

The evening will be directed by Tim Drucker (Fat Camp, SpiderMusical, StinkyKids The Musical) with musical direction by Scott Ethier. Ehbehmeh Productions is producing.

The evening is described as such: "Thirteen years have passed since the fateful day Dan Acquisto and Sammy Buck sat down in a dusky midtown office at a piano once owned by Stephen Sondheim, and wrote their first song together. After seven shows you may have seen, two shows you have yet to see and a show that will never see the light of day, they invite you to celebrate their collaboration in an evening of foul-mouthed swans, a town besieged by vampires and songs they didn't write with each other. Dust off your yarmulke (optional) and join the fun!"

Sammy Buck and Daniel S. Acquisto are the most recent winners of the MAC Dottie Burman Award. Their Vital Theatre show StinkyKids The Musical, won last year's Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Family Show and has been playing across the country and Canada via Theatrical Rights Worldwide. Their first show, Like You Like It, won the 2009 NY Innovative Theatre Award for Best Musical for the Gallery Players Production, was in the first NYMF and is soon to be published and licensed by Playscripts, Inc. Other shows together include Vital's The Frog & The Witch and Matthew Takes Mannahatta (book by Aurin Squire), as well as the regional success ...And Then I Wrote A Song About It (book by Eric H. Weinberger). Their other NYMF shows, together, are The 7-Year B*tch and Andy Warhol Was Right, and apart are Acquisto's Wild About Harry (book by Susan DiLallo) and Buck's Common Grounds (music by Doug Katsaros). Individually, Acquisto has written over a dozen children's musicals for The Kaufman Center in NYC, and Buck is the bookwriter and co-lyricist of NY Theatre Barn's Small Town Story (fka Speargrove Presents, music & co-lyrics by Brandon James Gwinn). Buck and Acquisto met in the BMI Workshop and were Dramatists Guild Jonathan Larson Fellows.
