American Lyric Theater continues its popular series of public libretto readings, The Living Libretto, at the National Opera Center beginning November 11, 2012. Featuring guest actors from the Broadway and off-Broadway stage, each event is the culminating reading of extensive libretto workshops conducted for new operas currently being written by ALT Resident Artists.

The first opera to be featured as part of The Living Libretto series is La Reina by composer Jorge Sosa and librettist Laura Sosa Pedroza. The reading will be directed by Debbie Saivetz and features Zabryna Guevara, Ed Trucco, Audrey Esparza, Teresa Yenque, Jose Joaquin Perez, Alfredo Huereca, Gerardo Rodriguez, Antonio Vega, Gerardo Gudino, Gabriel Gutierez, and Israel Hernandez. Following the reading, there will be an open discussion with the artists moderated by ALT's Producing Artistic Director, Lawrence Edelson.
