American Dance Theatre Productions will present ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER from Tuesday, July 30 through Sunday, August 4, at the June Havoc Theatre at the Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, as part of the Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival. A jazzy, contemporary update of the classic film about a murdered gangster brought back to life by the devil, who is anxious to besmirch the reputation of an incorruptible New York judge, ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER has Music by Warren Hill, Lyrics by O'MARA LEARY & James Beaumont & Book by James Beaumont. This AEA Approved Showcase Production will be directed by Joe Maruzzo.

Featured in ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER are Christina Carlucci, Nick Cirillo, NEd Donovan, Alex Estrada, Mark Glennerster, Hakim Rashad McMillan*, Eric Morris*, Nick Orfanella & David Howard Thornton. Production Stage Manager is Alexis M. Qualls*.

Vicious gangster Eddie Falco is brutally murdered & is approached by Nick, the devil. Seems Eddie's the spitting image of Nick's hated mortal enemy, Theodore Parker, an incorruptible New York State judge. Out to destRoy Parker, Nick offers Eddie a deal, "Let me put you in Parker's body & you can get the guy who killed ya," but Eddie's street-savvy actions as Parker don't turn out quite the way that Nick had envisioned. It's a wild & crazy ride, where one path can lead to salvation & the other to eternal damnation.

Composer & sax man Warren Hill, shines as one of smooth jazz's most popular & exciting stars. Following graduation from Eastman School of Music, Warren moved to Los Angeles where the president of Atlantic Records signed him to a record deal. His album Truth hit #1 NAC, where it remained for six weeks, as well as Top 10 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart. It also launched a year-long tour as part of the original cast of Guitars and Saxes, the top-selling instrumental tour, during which time Warren was voted NAC Songwriter of the Year by SESAC. His subsequent records have also reached the coveted #1 position, making him a staple in the smooth jazz world. Warren is recognized by a diverse list of awards, including Berklee College's Distinguished Alumnus, NAC songwriter of the year from SESAC, Juno Nomination for Contemporary Jazz Album, Canadian Smooth Jazz Artist of the year & Canadian Wind instrumentalist of the year.

O'MARA LEARY (Lyricist) is a songwriter from New York. She started writing songs at 12 & was commissioned 3 years later to write lyrics for the music of French composer Loulou Gasté. She has performed her work at The Bitter End, CB's Gallery, Nuyorican Poets' Café, Westbeth Theatre, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, The Village Gate, Gargoyle Mecanique Laboratory & other venues.

James Beaumont (Book & Lyrics) made his Broadway debut in A Chorus Line & was seen as an actor in several film & TV spots. He was writing & directing throughout his performing career & wrote, directed & produced the Cole Porter revue, Entourage, starring Amy Spanger. Other works include The Universal Patriarchs Versus the Diminishing Innocents & Dead Celebrity Hamlet. James is eternally grateful to his mentors: Mike Madill, Suzanne Shepherd, Harold Lang & Michael Bennett.

Joe Maruzzo (Director) has appeared in TV, films & theatre, including John Bishops' Borderline at Circle Rep, earning an Outer Circle Critic Nomination &Henry the Fifth at the Delacorte Theater, starring Kevin Kline. He played Joey Peeps on HBO's "The Sopranos" & appeared in several TV series including, "CSI Miami," "Law & Order," "Person of Interest," "NYPD Blue" & "The Young & the Restless," to name a few. He is a published playwright & has directed his work in New York & Los Angeles. He is also a lifetime member of The Actors Studio.

ANDY COLLOPY (Musical Director) music directed Company (MCTC), Hedwig & the Angry Inch (Interrobang), Hello Again & Coram Boy (Ithaca College). His other New York credits include Old Jews Telling Jokes (Westside Theatre), Unlock'd (Prospect), The 26th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition (BC/EFA) & NBC's "Smash."

ALEXIS M. QUALLS* (Production Stage Manager) is a graduate of the Columbia MFA Stage Management Program. Her NYC credits include Macbeth (CSC),Yeast Nation (NYC Fringe), reasons to be pretty & Still Life (MCC).

Christina Carlucci has appeared in Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Musical & Bare (Tanya) in NYC & regionally in A Chorus Line (Val), Legally Blonde (Margot u/s Elle), Smokey Joes Café (Brenda), Hairspray (Amber) & 25th Annual...Spelling Bee (Olive). She opened for Martina McBride in Nashville, performed with Franc D'Ambrosio (Phantom of the Opera) in LA, had the distinct honor of singing for two different Presidents, the Brooklyn Nets & the Washington Redskins. NICK CIRILLO, is a graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory & his regional credits include, Assassins, The Who's Tommy, Angels In America, South Pacific & Guys & Dolls. NEd Donovan is originally from Portland, Maine. He has worked in such regional theatres as Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Maine State Music Theatre, The Fireside, Theatre at Monmouth & Ithaca Shakespeare Company. ALEX ESTRADA has appeared in several plays, sketch shows & commercials & recently left his job as an attorney to pursue acting full time. Alex will appear as Ben in Kings, which opens at the Nuyorican Poets Café this August. Alex writes for the house sketch team Totally Yes! at the Peoples Improv Theater. MARK STEVEN GLENNERSTER, is a retired NYC Police Detective. He appeared in the film Before I Self Destruct opposite Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), as a police detective. Mark also played the role Alley Boy Persico (mob boss) on the Discovery Channel. He will be appearing in a web series sitcom called Paulie Pastrami as a police sergeant. Mark was also a front man for an original rock band that played at many venues throughout the tri-state area. HAKIM RASHAD McMILLAN* (Nick) was recently seen in Alive and Well at the Metropolitan Playhouse & The Comfort of Numbers at the Signature Theater. Eric Morris* (Eddie) sang the role of Beppe in Mill City Summer Opera's inaugural production of Pagliacci. In NYC he has appeared in Parade & A Man of No Importance at The Gallery Players, The Secret Garden at APAC & readings of Warsaw & 1812: The Musical. He performed regionally in The Who's Tommy, Big River, The Light in the Piazza, City of Angels, The Civil War & The Producers. NICK ORFANELLA's favorite credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (Judas), Hair (Berger) & A Christmas Carol (Bob Cratchit). David Howard THORNTON will be playing Grandpa Who, as well as understudying the Grinch, in the national tour of Dr. Seuss's How the Grinch Stole Christmas: The Musical, this fall. He recently voiced multiple characters in the video games Two Worlds 2, Ride to Hell: Retribution & the upcoming Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom. Other favorite recent roles include Ichabod Crane in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow & Clown 2 in The 39 Steps.
