Playwrights Horizons has announced additional casting for its current 2013/2014 Season. The announcement includes complete casting for the New York premiere of FLY BY NIGHT: A NEW MUSICAL, conceived by Kim Rosenstock (Tigers Be Still), written by Will Connolly (performer, Once), Michael Mitnick (Sex Lives of Our Parents, the upcoming film The Giver) and Ms. Rosenstock, and directed by Carolyn Cantor (The Great God Pan and After the Revolution at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Flower Water). STAGE KISS, by two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl, will also welcome Ken Marks to the cast for the final two weeks of its run.

The cast of FLY BY NIGHT will feature Allison Case (Hair, Hands on a Hardbody, Mamma Mia!), Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and the Starcatcher, Next to Normal, Rent), Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Peter Friedman (The Great God Pan, The Shaggs, After the Revolution, Circle Mirror Transformation, The Heidi Chronicles at PH; Ragtime), Michael McCormick (Coming Attractions at PH; Chaplin; Elf; Curtains), Patti Murin (Wicked, Xanadu, Love's Labour's Lost), Drama Desk Award nominee Bryce Ryness (Hair, First Date, Around the World in 80 Days) and Obie Award winner Henry Stram (Black Sea Follies, Jack's Holiday at PH; Inherit the Wind; The Crucible; Antony and Cleopatra).

The production will begin previews Friday evening, May 16 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Tuesday, June 10 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday evening, June 29 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

In this darkly comic rock-fable, a melancholy sandwich maker's (Mr. Chanler-Berat) hum-drum life is intersected by two entrancing sisters (Ms. Case and Ms. Murin). A sweeping ode to young love set against the backdrop of the northeast blackout of 1965, FLY BY NIGHT is a tale about making your way and discovering hope in a world beset by darkness.

FLY BY NIGHT had its World Premiere at TheatreWorks (Palo Alto, CA) in July 2011. Writing on the Dallas Theatre Center production last year, Elaine Liner of Dallas Observer asked, "When's the last time you saw a musical that left its audience happily crying and hugging each other during the curtain calls? That's what happened on opening night of FLY BY NIGHT, about as magical an evening as you'd ever want to experience in live theater."

The performance schedule for FLY BY NIGHT will be Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7PM, Thursdays and Fridays at 8PM, Saturdays at 2:30 PM & 8PM and Sundays at 2:30 PM & 7:30 PM. Single tickets, $80-95, will go on sale to the general public starting the week of April 14. As of that week, single tickets may be purchased online via www.TicketCentral.com, by phone at (212) 279-4200 (Noon-8pm daily) and in person at the Ticket Central Box Office, 416 West 42nd Street (between Ninth & Tenth Avenues).
