Gingold Theatrical Group, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, will present Shaw New York 2014, the annual Shaw-based festival in New York City, with events throughout December at The Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South) and Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street). GTG is the company behind the popular monthly series, PROJECT SHAW.

"Each year, GTG presents a series of events woven around our annual full production of a Shaw play. In keeping with the Shavian spirit of lively debate and spirited exchange of ideas, each event allows for a maximum of audience participation," says Staller.

Now in its third year, Shaw New York 2014 features the popular Shaw comedy, Major Barbara, a co-production between The Pearl Theatre Company and Gingold Theatrical Group. Directed by David Staller, Major Barbara runs through December 14 at the Pearl Theatre, 555 West 42nd Street. Tickets available at www.pearltheatre.org or 212-563-9261.

One of Shaw's most beloved plays, Major Barbara offers a complex, comic, and challenging look at wealth and poverty, war and peace, and a wickedly funny appraisal of what it truly means to be "moral" in our modern world. When the charming weapons-manufacturer Andrew Undershaft goes toe-to-toe with his passionate daughter Barbara, a Major in the Salvation Army, over his "ill-gotten" fortune, it leads to the wager of the century. She is determined to save his soul-he is determined to open her eyes to a wider world. Their confrontation will knock their entire family's moral compass up, down, and sideways, never to be the same again.
