The next guest for The Atelier with Alina Cho will be Olivier Rousteing, Creative Director of Balmain, on Tuesday, October 18, at 6:30 pm at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Rousteing will join journalist Alina Cho for an intimate conversation about how he revived Balmain, relying on the house's tradition of artisanal excellence while creating a new modern silhouette and offerings for Balmain's diverse, young "army."

Rousteing kicks off the third season of The Atelier, which has previously featured visionary thinkers Alber Elbaz, Diane Von Furstenberg, Donatella Versace, Alexander Wang, and Anna Wintour, all exploring the fashion industry, art, and personal topics.

Olivier Rousteing was selected to head Balmain's design team in 2011 at the age of 25, making him one of the youngest talents to lead a French fashion house. He was raised in Bordeaux and studied fashion at Paris' Ecole Supérieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode (ESMOD). He worked at Roberto Cavalli for five years, becoming designer for the men's and women's ready-to-wear collections. He then returned to Paris to work at Balmain, forming part of the house's design team for two years before being named Head of Design.

Alina Cho is currently Editor-at-Large at Ballantine Bantam Dell, responsible for acquiring and co-editing books in the fashion and lifestyle categories. Cho was previously National Correspondent at CNN and host of Fashion: Backstage Pass.
