Alice Ripley & Gregory Jbara to Star in World Premiere of New Musical Revue Featuring Songs of Harry Nilsson in San Diego

According to U-T San Diego, San Diego Rep has enlisted Tony winners Alice Ripley and Gregory Jbara to star in the world premiere musical revue LIFELINE: THE MUSIC OF HARRY NILSSON, as part of the theater company's 2014-15 season. The official announcement is expected this evening.

The revue, created by Steve Gunderson and choreographer Javier Velasco, will feature some of Nilsson's best known songs, including 'One,' 'Everybody's Talkin',' and 'Me and My Arrow.'

SD Rep's season is also slated to include STEAL HEAVEN, UNCANNY VALLEY, THE PIANIST OF WILLESDEN LANE, HONKY, and OEDIPUS EL RAY.

Ripley won a Tony Award for her leading role in 2009's Next to Normal on Broadway. Ripley has also appeared on Broadway in Children and Art, Little Shop of Horrors, Dreamgirls, The Rocky Horror Show, James Joyce's The Dead, Side Show, King David, Sunset Boulevard, The Who's Tommy and Les Miserables. Her off-Broadway credits include Wild Animals You Should Know, Little Fish, Chef's Theater: A Musical Feast, The Vagina Monologues, Jubilee, Li'l Abner and more.

She also hosts her own YouTube channel, which houses more than 300 videos. Ripley's upcoming big screen projects include Isn't It Delicious and Muckland. She has also appeared in a couple episodes of NBC's 30 Rock.

Gregory Jbara originated the roles of "Jackie Elliot" for the Broadway production of BILLY ELLIOT, for which he won the 2009 Tony, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama Desk Awards for Best Featured Actor in a Musical, "Andre Thibault" in the Broadway musical DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination, "Squash Bernstein" in VICTOR/VICTORIA, and the role of the dimwitted catcher, "Sohovik" in the Broadway revival of DAMN YANKEES!. Jbara was the second actor to star on Broadway as "Billy Flynn" in the Tony Award winning revival of CHICAGO and recently appeared as "Alfred P. Doolittle" in the Kennedy Center Spring Gala Concert of MY FAIR LADY.

Mr. Jbara can be seen regularly in his recurring role as "DCPI Garrett Moore" on BLUE BLOODS on CBS, and as next door neighbor "Dan O'Keefe" on GROUNDED FOR LIFE syndicated on ABC Family. Born and raised in suburban Detroit, Mr. Jbara transferred from the University of Michigan School of Music musical theatre program to complete his BFA in acting at the Juilliard School.
