Adventure Theatre MTC, recent recipient of the TYA/USA Harold Oaks Award for significant contributions to the Theatre for Young Audiences field, and Michael J. Bobbitt, ATMTC's Producing Artistic Director, are proud announce the Off-Broadway transfer of Caps For Sale, the Musical to The New Victory Theatre in February 27-March 6, 2016 following its National Tour. Ticket information for the season is at available at NewVictory.org and at(646) 223-3010. This is the second Off-Broadway transfer for Adventure Theatre MTC following the success of Three Little Birds in 2013.

The classic folktale of Esphyr Slobodkina's Caps For Sale, celebrating its 75th anniversary, will premiere on Adventure Theatre MTC's stage in September for a limited three-week engagement and then pack up its caps to travel to 17 cities nationwide on its National Tour, October 5- November 28, 2015.

"Caps! Caps for sale! Fifty cents a cap!" The cap peddler, wears a huge stack of caps, balanced carefully on top of his head. Brown caps, blue caps, gray caps, and red caps. When no one buys a cap, he takes a nap under a shady tree. But, when he wakes up, the caps are gone! Was it bears, pirates, one thousand thieves or a band of merry mischievous monkeys? Co-adapted by Ann Marie Mulhean Sayer and Michael J. Bobbitt with music and lyrics by William Yanesh, directed by Ovation Award-nominated Patrick Pearson and a part of the Women's Voices Theater Festival, this folktale cleverly illustrates the saying, "Monkey see, monkey do."

The entire cast of the National Tour will reprise their roles, Alan Naylor starring as the peddler with Danny Pushkin, Sean Elias, Bibi Mama, and Rebecca Tucker.

Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director at Adventure Theatre MTC says of the experience, "The New Victory Theatre was amazing to work with in 2013, and it speaks to the work of our local production team and designers to be asked back so soon. We cannot wait to bring this world premiere to the Glen Echo stage, nationwide, and on 42ndstreet."

For local patrons in the DC area, Flexpass books of 10 tickets are currently on sale for Adventure Theatre MTC's 2015-2016 Season. Tickets go on sale to the general public August 15, 2015. For more information about Adventure Theatre MTC, call 301-634-2270 or visit www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org.
