The Adolph & Rose Jewish Community Center and Island City Stage partner once again to proudly present award-winning South Florida playwright Michael McKeever's Daniel's Husband.

This witty, passionate, tragic play follows Daniel Bixby, an architect who wants to marry his longtime partner Mitchell Howard, a famous writer who isn't too keen on the idea of marriage. In the wake of the United States Supreme Court Ruling in favor of marriage equality, this deeply moving play provides a vivid example of why that right is so important. The play, which premiered at Fort Lauderdale's Island City Stage this past summer just received 4 Silver Palm Awards and is produced by the same award-winning team that brought The Timekeepers to the Levis JCC last year. Daniel's Husband will be presented November 28 - December 20 in the Beifield Auditorium at the Levis JCC's Phyllis & Harvey Sandler Center for Jewish Life Enhancement, 21050 95th Ave, Boca Raton. Tickets may be ordered online at www.levisjcc.org/boxoffice or by calling the Levis JCC Box Office at 561-852-3241.

Island City's artistic director Andy Rogow will again direct the production, with many of the original actors returning. Alex Alvarez will play Daniel Bixby, an architect who wants to marry his longtime partner Mitchell Howard, a successful writer who doesn't see the need for marriage. John Manzelli takes on the role of Mitchell; Larry Buzzeo reprises his role as Mitchell's agent, Christopher Anthony Ferrer as a home healthcare specialist and Laura Turnbull as Daniel's mother Lydia. Lighting Design is by Preston Bircher, Scenic design is by Michael McClain, and costume design is by Peter Lovello. Jeff Ostrow is the Stage Manager while Robin Alexander and Maja Nile serve as Stage Crew for this production, which is jointly produced by Levis JCC West Boca Theater Company and Island City Stage.

Founded in 2012, Island City Stage has gained the reputation of being a multi-award winning professional theater that provides stellar performances and specializes in developing new work in addition to featuring the works of playwrights who expose audiences to different voices and experiences. These works are brought to life on stage through the talents of professional artists, both union and non-union, whose credits include Broadway, Off Broadway, National Tours, major regional theatres, film and television.
